Who is Robby Starbuck?
Robby Starbuck can be described as an American conservative social media influencer and former music video director, for bands and music artists like Smashing Pumpkins and Akon. More recently, Robby’s work involves advocating for the removal of harmful and discriminatory DEI policies in American corporate businesses, taking on companies like Harley Davidson.
He also created a documentary film called “The War on Children”, which has widely been criticized as “transphobic and anti-LGBTQ+”. You can watch the 3 minute trailer, above. 👆

On April 29, 2025, Robby Starbuck took to X to announce his lawsuit and post a video describing his defamation journey involving Meta’s AI.

The case is WILD and has implications for ALL OF US. On top of falsely calling me a criminal, Meta suggested my kids be taken from me.
Here’s a summary of events:
This all started with Meta’s AI falsely claiming that I was charged with a crime from January 6th but… I wasn’t even in DC that day (I was in TN) and I’ve never been charged with a crime IN MY LIFE.
We found this out in August of 2024 when I was exposing woke policies at Harley Davidson. One dealership was unhappy with me and they posted a screenshot from Meta’s AI in an effort to attack me. This screenshot was filled with lies. I couldn’t believe it was real so I checked myself. It was even worse when I checked.
From that day I’ve faced a steady stream of false accusations that are deeply damaging to my character and the safety of my family.
This sounds bad, right? It gets MUCH worse. Meta was notified LAST YEAR by my lawyers, yet the defamation continues today.
Some lies Meta spread about me:
• Meta’s AI claims that I’ve appeared on Nick Fuentes show, that I’ve spoken at his rallies, and that I’ve supported him. I’ve never met him and this is all false.
• Meta’s AI claims I’ve engaged in Holocaust denial. I’ve NEVER denied the Holocaust.
• Meta’s AI tells advertisers NOT to advertise with me because of the lies it invented.
• Meta tells employers NOT to hire me because of the lies it invented.
• Meta suggested that MY KIDS BE TAKEN FROM ME because it would be better for them to be raised by someone more friendly to DEI and transgenderism.
• Meta’s ironically claimed that I’ve been sued for DEFAMATION and EMOTIONAL DISTRESS. I’ve never been sued for either.
I’ve tried to fix this privately since last year. Instead of fixing this and instituting safeguards, Meta has given us the runaround.
Meta later BLACKLISTED my name from being searched (insane) but it didn’t end the defamation because Meta includes my name in news stories. You can then ask for more info about me. If you do that, Meta goes back to defaming me. In fact, the lies this week are the worst yet!
Meta’s AI admits that a false accusation over J6 is extremely harmful to whoever is accused. It even agrees that a court is LIKELY to rule that this was defamation with ACTUAL MALICE.
With my lawsuit today, I intend to MAKE
solve this problem.

Growing Concerns Over AI
I first spoke about concerns with AI, with the announcement of Project Stargate, in January. It remains a concern, to this day.
My concerns aren’t necessarily for the regulation of AI political memes and the criminalization of those who don’t disclose this information(which I DON’T agree with), and have also discussed (linked below), but for AI’s use in job hiring, law enforcement and my top concern remains for it’s use in healthcare. This new defamation lawsuit between Robby Starbuck and Meta, adds an entirely new element that illustrates just how much power these tech giants hold to launch a character assassination scheme for those they deem politically problematic.

H.R. 1 - The Big Beautiful Bill’s Section on AI
H.R.1 has already passed the House of Representatives and is moving on to the Senate soon. The bill already faces opposition in the Senate, mainly from conservative budgetary hawks that talk about the massive debt the bill brings with it.
While the 1,116 page ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ has some appealing aspects, like no tax on tips, tax breaks for middle and low income seniors and no tax on auto loan interest, nestled in a section titled “Artificial Intelligence & Information Technology Modernization Initiative” you will find very broad language that bans states from regulating AI and shields tech companies from liability, if their products were to cause harm or infringe on privacy rights, much like the vaccine liability shield that is in place for pharmaceutical companies.
In essence; if this situation would have happened to Robby Starbuck, after the passage of the H.R.1, with the section about AI still intact and unchanged, Robby, or anyone else, would not be able to seek legal recourse for defamation from Meta. Or Google. Or whatever tech company’s AI system might have caused unforeseen damage to an American citizen.
“No State or political subdivision thereof may enforce any law or regulation regulating artificial intelligence models… during the 10-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act.”
—Sec. 43201(c)(1) of the bill
H.R.1’s AI section also prohibits all states from:
“any substantive design, performance, data-handling, documentation, civil liability, taxation, fee, or other requirement” that is, unless the federal government already regulates it, in Sec. 43201(c)(2). This is the part that gives tech companies a liability shield.
I suggest reading Jon Fleetwood’s post below, who does an excellent job of breaking down the implications of this AI section in H.R. 1. He also talks about the timing of the FDA’s recent roll out of a new rule that bypasses informed consent for researchers performing “minimal risk” studies, opening the door to use your medical record data and DNA - without your knowledge or permission. Jon has also noted the timing of all of these events in relation to Regeneron’s(a pharmaceutical company) purchase of 23andMe, a genetic testing and information company that allows users to send in a saliva sample for DNA analysis, to learn information about their ancestry and genetic history.
